Help with 98 accord not starting?
Hey im new to this site,
I am looking for help on my 98 accord. i just install a new stereo. and now my car wont start. i just get one click. i've tried jump starting it, and replacing the battery. doesn't help. i am thinking it might be the alarm, using the starter kill and not allowing me to engage the starter. When i put the key foward but not starting it, the dash tells me that everything is open all the doors, trunk, and brake light. any info would be great. im looking just to disable the factory alarm if that is posible.

Double check your wiring, and did you use the stereo adapter or you cut and splice into the factory? Might be having a short that is pulling your voltage away from the starter.
i installed it myself, and im pretty sure my wiring isn't bad. i checked it twice, and then i even took out the aftermarket stereo and it still didn't start. i did splice into the factory harness, but i had a chart letting me know which cable was which. stereo is great, everything is working fine. i just get one click. my dad told me i might have tapped into the alarm, and it is engaging the starter kill. is there a way i could maybe just get around that. i thought it might the alarm as well, because i get the all the doors open and trunk open and brake light all lit up on the dash.
