Default need help asap............ F$%^

ok finished doing a motor swap and now i have one last problem to solve........... the upper control arms in the front........ the horse shaped things that hold up the rotor.......... i was taking out my old swap and i banged on it with a hammer and it came out now i try to put the nut back on and it wont go all the way up because i think the bottom threads of the bolt are F&*ed so what can i do to fix this, least amout of headaches plzz..........

i tried to buy a bigger nut for it i believe it was a 3/8th i tried one size bigger and its not fitting, they guy at the hardware store told me to re thread it? will that work? because even if i try to spin the nut on the bolt the entire bolt starts to spin how can i fix this? plzzzzzzzz help

Damn dude, this whole thread is a wreck. Why the hell did you release the upper ball joints to do a swap? If you remove the strut, then unbolt the upper control arms, you just drop the entire assembly down. If you then turn the knuckle a little bit, the axle will come right out. You don't have to disconnect either ball joints, or the tie rod end....easy as pie.

Since you DID remove them though, then the answer all lies on how badly the threads and the shaft are bent/damaged. If it is still straight, then scar up the shaft and the hole in the top of the knuckly that the ball joint goes through. If you scar it up enough with a file, then when the ball joint is inside the knuckle, the scars will kind of "grab" each other, then it won't spin. If that doesn't work, then go buy a new upper control arm/ball joint combo and next time pull your axles the way I told you to.
