Default Swap options

My old lady's car is a 95 v-6 accord 4 dr. The engine is smoking pretty bad and she wants a new engine. Will a j30 from the newer accords swap in. I tried to talk her into an h22 swap but that just inst feasible. Any ideas? Oh the car is an automatic and needs to stay that way.

I wonder if you can throw in an automatic H22. Although not as fast as a manual, it will still be peppy and probably faster than the 175hp v6 you have at the moment. I suggest you contact one of these places that sells motors, they might be able to give you an idea of what you might be able to swap in.

The j30 isn't really a feasible solution. Everything would need to be fabricated to get it into the engine bay, and that's IF it would even fit, which I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Since you said an h22 isn't feasible either, your only real choice is just to replace the motor with another c27.

if its not feasible because of budget, well an auto H22 is cheaper. Just threw it out there if that changes anything for you.

yes, you would need mounts... going from the c27 to an h22 is not easy. to be honest, i'm not sure just how much work it would take, if the subframe is different, if it's really even worth trying, etc.

How about the older legend engines. they are stamped c27. You think that would work?

I think you probably could, but I can't give you a positive answer. Personally, I would stick with the c27 from the Accord. The c27 from the Legend (1st gen) were rated at 160 hp and 162 tq, while the Accord's c27 is 170 hp and 165 tq. Not to mention, the Accord's c27 will probably be easier to find, and with less miles.
