Default door locks

heres the deal....

a buddy of mine is an installer at a Tweeter and he has a crx in the bay today to get an alarm put in. With this alarm come keyless entry. The owner of the car said he has to hold the door handle out when he locks and unlocks the car. He also mentioned that he read somewhere that their is a pin you can remove so you dont have to hold the door handle while trying to lock or unlock. Does anyone know anything about this pin or this issue???

any help is greatly appreciated

if its installed normally, you shouldn't have to hold the handle out unless the driver's door is opened.
