Default Ever Use the Golden Eagle Vtec Conversion Kit?

HAS ANYONE EVER USE THIS?! WOULD IT BE CHEAPER OR AS GOOD *** JUST TAPPING THE OIL LINE... I WANT TO USE IT FOR A b20z Vtec. WILL THIS HEAD GASKET LOWER MY COMPRESSION?!

COST AROUND $200 ON EBAY... YOU THINK IT CHEAPER THEN TAKING IT TO A SHOP TO HAVE THE CONVERSION DONE. YOU THINK IT MIGHT LEAK?

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK...

You are bidding on a brand new Golden Eagle MFG. LS\VTEC conversion kit!

- We now have a Full Vtec Conversion System for people that want to use an LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC set-up.
- This kit is the easiest and most complete way to supply oil to the head without any machining required and is very clean and reliable.

The kit includes:
- 1. Golden Eagle Vtec Conversion Sandwich Plate with a -6AN fitting for the plate and head.
- 2. -6AN steel braided teflon hose for oil supply
- 3. Golden Eagle Vtec Conversion Dowels for proper alignment of the head and block without machining
- 4. 1/8 NPT tap and plug for the oil port in the head
- 5. Golden Eagle worked factory head gasket with any bore size and dowel holes opened for any application

-When we say " NO Machining " we mean that there is no reason that anyone cannot do this kit in their own garage. - The only thing that must be done is tapping the head for the plug .
- The VTEC line and fitting all use existing ports with no need to do anything else.
- Sold as a kit with full instructions.
- Individual parts can be purchased separately.

When making your purchase make sure which kit you would like as far as the head gasket size goes. Thanks and good luck!

The Golden Eagle kit is actually really good. It's complete and will prevent you from having to pay a machine shop to drill out either your block or your head. In addition you can install it in just a few minutes and you can easily uninstall it if you ever decide to go another route. No the head gasket will not effect your compression.

u could run the oil line from the oil pressure switch instead of using the GE oil filter adapter and u'd save yourself some money. But if i had the money i'd use the GE kit.

But you have to worry about finding that fitting for the switch because its bspt threads. Plus you have to worry about the weight of the fittings and what not, hanging them off the block is not the safest thing.

Seems like a nice kit though
I would go for it and buy it

I used the complete kit on my Ls/VTEC and I am satisfied. I also like the extra port on the sandwhich that allows me to use a oil pressure gague. I got mine from http://www.lightningmotorsports.com, they gave me a great price.

wow good to hear... i guess im going to go with it... thanks for the feed back guys...

now i just have to decide if i should change out the pistons in the b20...

1. how much does it usually cost to just swap out the pistons? (kinda off topic)

2. do i need to worry about the cr if im going to add a vtec head to my b20? like could i go with 11:1 with a b16 head?

3. and is there anything you can add to the GE kit to make it better? or is there anything you think you minus well throw in while you got the head off?

only downside (but a sizeable one) is you can't use the factory oil cooler with the ge kit.

Our kit fits 100% on the stock oil cooler. We made a few kits in the beginning that did not fit the cooler, but ever kit for the last 3 years has been redesigned to fit the cooler without any issues

How did you install the dowels? What side? intake or exhaust on the block? Small or big size into the block?

good price for what it comes with, and it has a headgasket which im sure is om quality too.
get a regular lsvtec line and headgasket itll cost you the same amount, and you still have to modify the head n ****.. not that its very hard work, but if you have the $ go for it.

dont take your car to jiffylube or whatever with those sandwich adapters tho, 99% of them never seen one before and most likely dont know it comes off and prob loosen it when they change your oil filter

i installed them where i pulled the stock dowels from. they fit in the block fine, but didnt want to go into the head. it sorta went in but not wall the way. so i put it on as best as i could then torqued the botls down til it snapped down.

anyone know what size the allen key for the plug u have to remove for the oil source in the head?
