well... i didn't post to hate on you or be a smartass, but if you really think about it, you're not far from people selling "mugen" chips on ebay. What will probably happen is you will send a uberdata "basemap" to someone and they will boost on it thinking they can just run it instead of going to get the car tuned from the get (like you're supposed to)... Don't compare yourself with a tuner.... it takes me 1-2 hours to do a decent street tune on a car... it takes 2 seconds to burn a $1 eprom chip. That's a lot of profit derived from someone elses labor... whether you intended to or not, you are stealing, and people like you are why programmers/innovators such as blake (uberdata) and John (chrome) as well as others get offended and *** hurt, which leads to them charging for their programs.... why don't you send half of your profits to them

Compare myself to a tuner? I have tuned several cars including gti 16v on megasquirt which BTW I started from scratch. My 99 si, my crx with turboedit as well as friend's cars. Who cares?

I am selling a base map for those who don't have access to burners. Your stealing comment is idiotic.

I used freeware for what it was intended. I am selling a basemap which anyone can make (including the buyer and email it to me) burned with my burner which I paid for using the software which I paid for. Care to elaborate on your misguided thoughts?

And BTW, if you had a legitimate concern you should have pmed me, seems like you want attention.

 

I'm not doubting your tuning knowledge or your character, but simply from the standpoint of sending someone a basemap, I just think thats wrong, the whole point of those programs is to help diy'ers, and help people to understand more about the honda fuel management system and tuning. A lot of the time, this ends up being used by some kid as a way to run their f/i car for free (or close to it). A basemap should be used to get your car from your house or shop to a tuner, if you cannot tune it yourself. I think this will encorage someone to run their car on a basemap, while not understanding that they are (or are possibly) f*cking their car up. You should post that. This is just the way I feel, as being one of the people that have been doing this from the start back in the ghettodyne days.
