you could turbo it, but if you plan on staying naturally aspirated, it would be better to buy the h22

I was in the same boat as you. After breaking it down it is more economical and better in the longrun to get an H22 swap and part out your H23 swap. It would take a lot more money to get 40whp out of the H23, and even if you do, you will still have an old motor.

My car had 173K miles when I did the swap. The motor was in good shape but it was too old. Seals were leaking, the header downpipe was rusted, the timing belt and water pump needed changing, valve cover seal was leaking, and a few other things.

It was actually cheaper to do the H22 swap than to repair my H23 and part it out, and I gained 40whp at the same time.

It will cost a lot of money initially, but you can recoupe some of the money back when you part out yuor H23.

HAHAHAHA. No, it doesn't. It does kick in but MANY people hyped it up more than what it is. If you feel a sudden kick, that means the VTEC engagement point is not set optimally. It should be a smooth transition over to the larger lobes on the cam.

It is a nice kick at 5200 rpm. It is a VERY noticeable difference because that's where the H23 starts to die off. However, it's not like a turbo'ed car.

It was a VERY nice upgrade from the H23, that's for sure.

what are u talking about..h23's dont die off at 5000+ rpm's. oh wait, i am boosted

if your goals are not to go FI, swap and get the h22. you could always do a hybrid and just get a h22 head and put that on the h23 block, but it takes a lot of work and u have to know what ur doing unless you are going to pay someone to do it.
