Default SICK, first tranny swap ever!

wow, what a good feeling. Just did my first tranny swap on a d series, took me and my buddy 16 hours but that was with food breaks, little field trip and some hardcore lagging, and of course figuring out how the hell to do ****. So cool to now know how to do this, corrcetly. To know where the bolts are at, what to take off first, last, and know how to do all that **** is ALLL worth it. Got in my car, threw it in reverse and traveled 2 feet and i started to giggle like a school girl! ANYWAY, just wanted to share my "natural" high with everyone else! For all those who havn't done a tranny swap, it's pretty simple if u just have the right tools, time and patience.

Congrats man, after this one because you now know how to angle the bolts, and what size bolts, and what to take out. There all cake after that. I felt the same way after doing my first oddysey trans., everyone after that 3 hours tops. Keep up the good work man.

Damn 16 hours!! I did a motor swap in less time than that...j/k (i did but this is a congratulatory thread ) . Congrats on your learning experience and new knowledge gained on hondas. More people should take example from you and start doing their own **** too, instead having shady *** shops **** their **** up, then have to come back to HT asking us what the hell is wrong with their car without troubleshooting themselves. Good luck with future car work!

Congrats, but damn, 16 hours? Hopefully you can cut that down to 2-3 swapping trannies with hand tools.

ya lil long to do the swap. but hey what ever floats ur boat. better than rushing everything and forgetting something.

BTW an average motor swap can be done in that amount of time. tranny swaps are about a 2-3 hour job for me. 1 hour for the bitch pin alone..lol

yea haha realize it's super long, but literally i just took my sweet *** time cus i knew it was gonna take forever. I musta spet like 2 hours on the bitch pin, until i finally decided to just drop the whole linkage instead of knock the pin out from underneath the car, the pin for the shift linkage. to do thattt, i had to drop my exhuast etc etc so it started to add up haha. but now i bet i could have that thing unbolted in like 90 mins to an hour, cus **** u know where every thing is. YEA im deff going crusiing, just need 4 cotter pins and some clutch fluid before i can do that. then i can take my mad 100 whp motor out for a cruise haha. would u believe i got rid of a bult b20 for this to be reliable, yet the tranny in the swap i got was fucked, so i had to do this haha, for half the hp haha. anyway it's been awhile to drive, and many, MANY rides to work, along with my ball joint breaking and my wheel almost falling off, yay. so yea just stoked it works but yea like someone said, you should really take the intiative to at leats try your own work. not a bad idea to have a buddy who knows what they are talking about a phone call away, but nohting feels better when accomplishing something that is extremely useful! Thanks peeps, and **** i think i double posted this in EF forum! what happens when u stay up 16 hours haha.
