awww man. you shoulda just done the auto -&gt; manual swap (yeah, easier said then done)

black ludes look so damn good too. you should see some pics of andrews old lude (bolivian fuego), damn that thing was sex.

 

we replaced the tranny through honda, then sold it. insurance was expensive; almost 4k a year.

Yep i miss the old lude.

That is just crazy. I pay 1/4 of that for full coverage on two cars.

I love BB6 Preludes, by the way, but only if they 5-speeds.

they were ****...so many trannys went out and honda did not recall them. they gave 00-01 extended warranties, but left 97-99 in the **** hole.

mine was a 97 with ~70k on it.

yeah my tranny went out like a couple months ago. My lude was included in that extended warranty and I got another brand new ss tranny. Lucky me

didnt drive it hard at all. i never even used the SS mode. i was at a light one day, press the gas and the tranny slipped, went into first, and then went into neutral. i had no warning at all.

 

So what happens if you use the ss mode frequently?

same thing. either way you use the tranny its still a piece of crap. its honestly the worst transmission that honda ever produced.
