Does any one knows if can you repalce the plastic rear old style windon to the new glass?
Does any one knows if can you repalce the plastic rear windon that came in the 00-01. To the the new glass windon that comes with the new model 02-05. This is with out replacing the complete top?
You would have to look for a 2003+ soft top. Lot of people take remove their soft top and the motor because it reduces a lot of weight. So you might have some luck finding one
yes, you must replace the entire top. just verified with the car owner next to me now who did it himself a month ago. he and another friend did it in ~8 to 10 hours in the garage, which included beer breaks. but estimate being charged for 16 hours of labor at a dealership or qualified top installer.
I have thought about this and I bet a quality convertible top place could do a custom one for you and retain your original top. I am thinking about looking into it.
http://www.hardtopguy.com to purchase the tops..
I have never seen it been done, but is it possible? anything is. The older softtops and the plastic window are one piece. You would have to cut the plastic to install a glass window. You would also need have power source for a defogger unless you plan on not seeing anything behind you. The old soft tops do not have a defogger for the back. You would also have to find a way support the extra weight of the glass and so that it is secure. Honestly, I would just get another soft top. it would be a little more inexpensive.
you have to change the skeleton of the soft top to my knowledge.. cuase the tops with the glass folds differently then the tops with the plastic

search on s2ki.com for a pictorial walk-through on how to do it. it takes the entire top.

The glass window essentially ends where the plastic one folds. It's smaller to allow for this.
The difference between the two tops is the frame you can put a glass softtop on an earlier frame you just need to put elastic straps on the second frame bar to pull it down when the window closes.
A search on S2ki.com will give some detailed walk throughs.

Thanks for the help. I will look it to replacing the top fro glass or buying a hard top.
