Default problems installing one piece header on b16. bracket doesn't line up.

i have a b16 and im trying to install a competech 4-2-1 header. its actually an obd2 header i think from a GSR. anyhow the brack im talking about takes the stress off header/head, it is a black bracket that bolt right behind the intermidiate shaft, and the other side bolt to that piece by the collector. the problem is that the bolts on the bracket won't quit go into the holes of the piece that is by the collector. its like the bracket is about 1/4" short. what do i do?

The bracket is not that big of a deal. Either try to align it ( yes its very very tough to align ) or drill out the holes or cut the piece off.

Nothing will happen if you run with out that bracket on. Look at some other big name brands, they don't even come with that piece on there header

yes its not a problem to take it off, a lightweight header will not need one, i would still use one for a stock manifold though

i guess im just worried that when the rest of the exhaust system bounces that it will cause the header to bounce against the head. also i don't know how easy it is for the header bolts to break.

Honestly don't worry about it, its not gonna happen. Once the header is bolt down, its not going anywhere at all
