d16y8 with ac???
i just wanted to know if anyone else has a y8 with the crx ac comp. what size is the belt that i need or the part #. i went to napa 4 time and keep getting the wrong one. thanks
if you have a d16y8 with a d15b compressor, theyre not gonna have the right one. i worked at napa for 5 years as a parts specialist, and the easiest way to fix your problem is get a piece of sting, tie it around the 2 pulleys while the tensioner is at the far loose position, remove the string, measure it, and bring it to napa. belt part numbers are by width, groove style, and length, so if you have the length, and an approximate width of the size of belt you need, and what groove style ex: v belt, ribbed ect, they can get you the right belt without going by application.
I have my stock D15B1 a/c compressor on my D16Z6. I don't see why it would be any different on the Y8. The a/c pulley and the crankshaft pulley have both 4 ribs. And the a/c is mounted on in the same place on both d-series blocks. I forgot which motor I used the a/c belt from. I am pretty sure I used the a/c belt from a Z6. 90% sure that if you use a Y8 with with a d15b compressor, you use the Y8 belt and that will solve your problems.
