Default starting problem

i got my battery charge and the starter checks out ok. And my car wont start. I think it is the ignition because when i turn the key all the way to the on position i hear a constant noise thats without the clutch being depressed how can I check to see why it wont start w/ an ohmeter. The engine is fine, it is not locked up because it has just been swapped and it will start with a push to pop the clutch. and it runs fine after starting.

Try jump starting the car. If it starts...your alternator could be bad.
A good battery with a bad alternator will not start the car by itself.
What noise do you hear..if it's lots of small clicking noise from your fusebox...it could be your battery. It may just be dead.
