ok, i kno this might or will become a stupid question to most, but why do people hate on altezzas??

 

Because they belong on IS300's (By the way, I love your avatar )

 

because the owners like ***** in their mouths.

 

They cost money and you don't get any performance back in return.

 

I think it boils down to function over fashion.

That being said I defend it by saying this:

Altezzas serve no purpose in the overall scheme of function (meaning performance) and honestly make the car look like crap (my opinion) NTM you're spending money and replacing an oem part that had complete function.

Altezzas gave people that wanted clear tailights the option to keep red reflectors and maintain the legalness of their car while adding some exterior 'flair'. To me spending money on a part where the original did just fine is just economically stupid. People who get jdm thin side moldings or ctr headlights mainly do it for the same bling that people buying altezzas strive for. The people that bought the jdm parts either wanted the jdm theme or maintain a clean looking car whilst keeping oem parts. With the ctr headlights those actually cut down on the glare and lost light down on the headlights, so that retains its function and bling .

It comes down to what the owner of the car wants with THEIR car...whether it be jdm thin side moldings or altezzas, that is what makes the car scene so great; everyone can do their own thing.

I personally hate them and would honestly spend money on performance parts to make my car go fast, but that is me .

 

i just think they look ugly, its just my opinion.

i dont necessarily hate on people for having them, but i do point and laugh sometimes.

they look like ****, no matter what....they look like **** on the toyotas and the evos too....

they just have no taste, like shitty body kits...make the car look like **** and look cheap...not what i would call clean

Altezza and tailight conversion are the thing of the past

Noone longer does it...exept for RICER
