will a 89 si clutch work in a 92-95 sohc vtec tranny
just wondering if a sohc vtec clutch is the same because my clutch is going on my 89 si and i plan on dropping a sohc vtec motor in it within the next month or so but i need to put a cluch in the car now because shes my only way around. thanx
no i dont think that you can put an 89 clutch on any 92-95 d-series.... because the flywheel size of your 89 si is 200mm and the 90 and up are 212mm.... what i suggest you do is to just get a clutch and flywheel for the 90 and up civics and then bolt the flywheel to your exisisting tranny, and then you can use any 90 and up clutch for the d-series.... and when you get your swap just throw that flywheel and clutch on.... but if you buy a new clutch for your 89 then you will be kind of pissed cause its smaller and wont fit the 92-95 motors

This is absolutely correct. I'm running an Exedy Stage 1 clutch on my A6 with the 90-91 212mm ACT StreetLite flywheel.

what you can do is put the 89 si flywheel on the 92-95 motor, then the clutch will bolt up.
the flywheel of the old motor bolts onto the new motor's crankshaft
oops, someone already posted, sorry didntread haha
