Default SOHC turbo Project-BAAD idle with RC 440's and Walbro 255

I need help from the HT turbo experts!

I have a really bad idle and the engine dies when I do a quick blip of the throttle. It won't die if I apply slow gradual throttle. I tried using the original injectors (240/260cc's i dont remember exactly) and the car idles fine. I thought it was the Walbro overwhelming the stock FPR is the reason why I went back to the original injectors.

Do I need a an adjustable FPR?

No vacuum leaks. I idled the engine before I installed the fuel pump and injectors.

a "base map" dosn't tell us much. a stretched timing belt will give weird idel too.

guys, the "basemap" allows the engine to idle like stock with the stock injectors. I realise the limitatations of the basemap and will go get it tuned-Ultimate Performance cause they are half an hour away. Can't do it if the car dies if I give it a little gas. tURBO PARTS=I'm poor now so I don't wanna throw money away for a tow.

OPTION 1: Try an AFPR next cause I can affect idle by unplugging the connector to the fuel pump for a second and the car will idle better/smoother. This tells me the RC injector and Walbro combo is the cause. So ya, it's likely on the rich side (I can smell it too)

(borrowed from gscmotors site)

OPTION 2: Put back the stock injectors in, drive like an old lady, install the440's before getting it tuned.

OPTION 3: ?

I had the P28 chipped by st00pid and asked him for a basemap at the same time.

Have someone who knows how to make a good basemap do it for you or learn how to make one. FPR won't really do much for you.

Here's your answer right here. Just apply slow gradual throttle all the way to your tuner and get your car tuned.

mo powa to the Y7's!

With the P28 it idled well with the stock injectors fed by the Walbro-still on the stock IACV cofiguration...

Tried to drive that way and it won't make it out past my driveway. The $hitty part is when it stalls, in order for it to start again, I have to unplug the fuel pump connector and crank the starter 3-4 times. Forget driving it this way in traffic.

I tried the stock injectors again today and it drove well with my MBC set at ~6 so it should be OK to drive to get it tuned. But I think I will wait for my AFPR to get in and installed before I get it tuned. Might come in handy...

Yes, turbo was just installed and I do have a cel. I don't know how to read it though to get the code.

jump the service connector and read the Flash out.

There is a Thread on "how to read codes" in the Civic FAQ section

are you swapping your ECU (changing fuel tune??) when you swap injectors? if not it sounds like your setup for 220cc basemap and the larger injectors are flooding your motor.

Have someone burn you a good basemap, it sounds like the basemap isn't set for the injectors. Get an Uberdata basemap just to get to the tuner and then you can figure the Neptune thing out.

No, should I have to? I don't remember reading any of that when using an OBD1 in an OBD2...I'll try reading the cel Code.

Yes, I did at first.

In order of events:
Installed all turbo components.

Started the engine with stock ECU and injectors=good idle but cel cause O2 sensors not installed.

Installed 440's and Walbro 255 and chipped P28=engine would not run.
Tried everything above with the stock ECU=engine does not run.

Put stock injectors back in, stock ECU=engine runs At this point the engine is warm!

440's Walbro and chipped P28=engine runs but dies if throttle is quickly appled. Engine is warm!

Tried again today today to start the engine but it would not idle at all.

sounds like its a basemap for stock injectors cuz when u press the throttle with 440's its flooding the motor with fuel and shutting it off

I think it's the IACV.

It looks like you are using the stock Y7 intake manifold.

Y7 uses 3 wire IACV, OBD1 ECU can only control 2 wire IACV.

Stop speculating and find out what the ECU is trying to tell you.
