Default guy in the shop had the audacity to tell me to do the job that need to be done is $800.00 WTF

Im near the end of this long and drawn out project..and once again for the umptient time I hit a problem. I changed every ******* thing in the motor..its a dohc zc with forged lo compression pistons, rods, blockguard, basically a built bottom end..Now when I put the ******* case on the bottom of the motor the crank acts like it doesnt want to spin half of the time..I took it to several shops and the most sensible conclusion that has been arived is that the bearings are too thick..Now where the head ace comes in is that these shops are doing some real drugs..The ******* guy in the shop had the audacity to tell me to do the job that need to be done is $800.00 WTF?...My question is is there another way to get what need to be done done...Here is the break down again.......NEW MAIN BEARING CAPS..NO COLOR CODES...HARD FINDING COLOR CODES FOR MY MOTOR...ONCE EVERYTHING IS TORQUED DOWN CRANK HARD TO TURN...SHOP ASKING CRAZY PRICE.....Please help me Im tired of assemblng and deassembling my motor....and Im sorry for cursing but Im pissed off

You want it done right, or you want it done cheap? Doesn't look like cheap did to good if it wont spin.

You can buy a bearing mic, inside diameter mic, and a normal mic and figure out the exact bearings you need on your own.

I had this happen once and then I realized the I mixed up the rod caps with different rods and the crank wouldn't spin. Maybe that?

(Oh, I mean, uh, this guy I knew did it.)

who is installing this stuff? weather you have coded bearing or not u still must plastigauge them to determine proper clearence. luck it doesn't turn. if it was a little looser and allowed to turn it would have spun a bearing from lack of lubrication rather quickly. plastigauge the bearing you have. with a mic measure them, then determine what size you need.. nice and easy any decent engine builder should know this.
