I believe the all VTEC heads are b16 heads. The blocks are what's different along with other things, but the heads are the same.
Isn't that right fellas.

no its not. thre are a few different vtec heads- b18c5(type r) head. and some others. basically you tap an oil line; connect it to the head and put it on the LS or B20 block. there are a few more small steps but other than that thats it.

I'd stick with the LS Turbo. I'm not too fond of building a LS/VTEC, because, if you're going to build it, might as well do it right the first time. 8psi on a stock block with minor mods will be just fine and plenty of power, but a built LS/VTEC will cost you a grip. Unless you are going to spend alot of money and want all motor, I wouldn't bother with it. Just my .02

Yep I second that , I was going to go ls/vtec but my friend who was going to do it told me its not a good idea unless you do it the right way ie building the block.

b16 has lower compression than teh b18 so if u want all motor get a b18 not a b16 head but if u want turbo u want a b16 head the combustion chambers are different

ALRIGHT, here is the deal, ls/vtec is expensive!!!!! If you want to do it right, you have to build the bottom end to rev to 8000 which is were you make the power with b16/vtec head!!!! So, if you don't plan on bulding the bottom end, then dpn't go ls/vtec!

if going turbo built it right the first time so you dont have no worries , and well if ls/vtec then why not crvtec on consider the b18c1 as an option if you do not have budget for it !

my brother has LS/VTEC TURBo.

well its soon to be turbo. has everything. jus needs to git custom ic pipin and down pipin. its a gen3 drag kit for a GSR. it'll be on a 90 integra. its b18a block, b16head pistons, crower rods, block guard. i think its got a complete crower head package. dunno for sure. to git where he is now. it cost around 2500 maybe even 3000 bux. not even turbo yet. its gonna be anotha 500+ to git the turbo installed. turbo was a hand me down. had about 5000 miles on it. and we were the main drivers of the GSR it came out of. good friend of ours. decided he wanted all motor for some reason. i think hes outta his mind. cuz it was runnin perfect on his gsr. runnin low 13s right off the road.

all i know is. LS/VTEC will show u a huge increase in power from stock LS. even built at low compression my brother can break off gsr's. jus wait till its turbo.

in the end. id go complete ls/vtec/turbo.
in the hassles we did to git it LS/VTEC and now to git the turbo. goin the extra mile will make a difference.

9:1 compression.

type R pistons are high compression. if u go all motor thats good. if u go turbo thats bad. do soemthing like that and you'll blow yer motor.

probably not a good explaination. but

pistons+rods are a must for a reliable turbo. seen em in all variations. the ones that live have those mods.
