oem alarm/keyless entry
OK
I have just purchased a 02 Honda Accord SE. I know the car has a factory alarm(so I think,It has the security and light on the drivers door) But since I have had the car the keyless entry works fine, panic works, but the car will not arm.I have looked everywhere to find the alarm brain, but can not find it yet. The stereo is the factory stereo that was factory,I had to use the unlock code in the glovebox to use it. The previous owner did have an aftermarket stereo in it but put the factory one back when the lease ran out. and whoever did the stereo did a shottey job. the cut the factory harness and straight wired it. when they put the factory stereo back they used but connectors and did not have much wire left. Just curious as to if maybe they unplugged the alarm too? If I could ever find it I could tell. Anybody have a pic of what it looks like? and where it is. or is it in the same unit as the keyless or the stereo?
Any help greatly appreciated....

It looks like the keyless/alarm system is controled by the multiplex system. I think there is a self test function but I dont have a manual here to tell how to enter it.
I've seen a few bad hood latch switches lately, i'd probably check that first. (but thats just a shot in the dark)

Well I did just have to replace the drivers side multiplex because the dash lights at night did not work.Maybe I have a plug in the wrong spot. You know the small plugs on the underdash side not the fuse side. But if someone maybe can tell me where they go. As far as the hood switch goes I have tried unplugging it to see and still nothing. I did know that they say you need 10v dc on the connection . well when I plug the switch back in I get 0v dc (hood open of course) but if I unplug the connection I get 10v dc. (thats the plug under the hood just behind the grill) But I would think that if I unplug it it should not need the hood switch ,correct?
And anymore on that self diagnostic would maybe help if someone knows
Thanks
