sorry to post this again - anyone have magnetic #'s for VIR?
Hey all,
I would prefer not to use that black tape which is hard as hell to get off. Darth had some numbers he was willing to sell but I never really gave him an answer and now I need to find some kind of magnets for the event on the 16-17. Anyone got some extras, or a set for sale?

Ross-
If you liked the ones I'm selling to David, I can have some made at the same local shop that did mine. Just let me know...

I don't even remember what they looked like. I just like anything that won't stick to my car and have people shooting at me because my car says 187 on the side.
I have two black magnetic sheets with 33 in yellow on them (tested up to 125mph). I'll try to remember to bring them down with me for you.

Any local sign shop should be able to do numbers for you for $20 or less per number - I have 14"x6" numbers and had no problem at all at VIR full in December at up to 120mph. Sorry, mine aren't for sale...
Call Raceworks, they will make you some nice 6 inch stick on numbers for cheap.

I got some 12"x24" white vinyl magnetic sheets from the craft store that I'm going to stick some numbers that I print up on my inkjet printer on some sticky paper and spray acyrlic them for water-resistance.
In the NASA registration info, it says the numbers must be 8", but then I though I saw something about them needing to be 10" ... is 8" safe?

The speed shop at VIR sells die-cut stick-on vinyl numbers for like $2 or $3 each (i think). I've used them, they work great
Contact paper, scissors, and a computer to make an outline of the numbers works really well also.
Make sure you get the minimum size remembering that the numbers need to be on the car and not the windows.

Ross, I noticed that the local motorcycle shop carried some 8" (or where they 6"...now I can't remember.) stick on numbers (I'm guessing designed for some sort of placard that would be on a race bike). They didnt' cost much at all, but I'm not really sure if they'd A) work on glass B) be safe for your paint.
I printed number on a piece of paper using ordinary printer. I put it on the inside of the triangle windows behind doors. Just squeese edges between the glass and body. It works fine for AutoX, but wind would blow them away at the track. Next season I'll laminate them.
Please be incompliance with the current CCR when purchasing numbers.

No numbers may be placed on the side windows. Numbers on the front or rear of the car are recommended but not required. No metallic numbers, having iridescent and/or reflective properties, are allowed.
