Default "Click" or "Knock" noise coming from rear when starting...

Hey guys-

I have been hearing a noise lately when I am either 1) starting from a stop to slow speeds (RPM in 1st around 2000-2500) in traffic, 2) when engaging into reverse from a stop, and 3) When engaging 1st from reverse (low RPM 2500ish, like leaving driveway). It is usually 1 "click" or "knock" that sounds like it is coming from the rear end. It is occasionally 3 knocks or clicks. The higher the RPM, the louder the click, until around 3500+, then it goes away completely. The guys on s2ki.com said there was a TSB for the rear hub nut, that it needs to be removed, regreased, and retightened to 220 lb/ft. Will this cure these ills? If so, does anyone know the TSB number, so I can talk to my dealer about it (car is under extended warranty)?

thanks

John

The one I found on s2ki was technical service note (not a tsb) #011201 however when I went to the dealer yesterday it had changed to a tsb. I had the same symptoms and got mine done yesterday and all is well. I'm at work right now on my sidekick 2 but when I get home around 5 pst i will post the tsb number. See ya

Call to make sure they have the hub nuts in stock. They are the same as the accord so they probably will. Part number 90305-sd4-003, you have to replace them because they come staked from the factory. I'm pretty sure the new tsb is #011270

It could be one of the mounts came off the exhaust and makes it more loose, when you start off from low RPMs the exhaust piping will vibrate more and may be hitting against something.
