Default HOW TO: Install 98-01 ITR Lip on 94-97 Bumper

Well, as alot of you know, alot of the latest websites (such as Phasenine, speednstylez, rev-auto etc.) have been sending out lips for the 94-97 ITR bumper, but instead its a 98-01 ITR Lip. They get there product from the same compay, 'ABS Dynamics'. If a mod needs to edit the sites out, go ahead, but its true. Some may say, 'the lips are simply mis-labeled'. Well I did a test, I got a friends 98 Bumper, & the lip fit PERFECT. So simply, it is just 'a mis-labeled sticker'. But that is beside the point. The point is alot of people have received this lip, they think its hot, they want it on THERE car but dont know how & some just have passion for the 98-01 ITR lip...well I tell you how to install it here.

First, here is the lip I received, clearly its the 98-01

94-97 Sticker, Yea Right

So first, we look at both ends of the lip. The parts that are supposed to wrap around the bumper...but this will not work. Here is a pix.

So we must hack saw it (Which anyone can do, VERY easy

In this picture, I have already cut off the left side of the lip. You can see the piece clearly laying on the table. Circled in red is the parts you must chop off. You DONT have to cut the triangle portion off, but I went ahead & did so JUST in case for easier fitment.

Below, you can see (circled in red) the screws to hold the lip into place. There is two in the middle, (only one is visible in the picture), & two screws on the side. Technically only 1 could hold it, but 2 just to be safe, & 3 if you want it to be REALLY secure. When your done tapping in the screws, you can paint over them in some black touch up paint, which is not pictured here. There are no gaps at all, even though it looks like it in the pics, its just a reflection

The Finished Product!!!!!!!!

Recommendations : Getting a set of clear corners, & using the Krylon Staind Glass Orange Paint to paint your clear corners to give it that extra 'Type-R' look. Just painted the lenses right before I did this install. Install took me about an hour & half, b/c most of the time, I was trying to think of what to do to make it fit better. If I could do it over again, shouldn't take but half an hour. Good luck & hope this helps!

The part that you cut off. Isn't that supposed to go inside the wheel wheel and that is what you screw into???
