Default CBR F4I MECHANICIAL PROBLEM

I started riding my bike for the first time this season. The bike starts and everything, but after riding it for around 20 miles something goes wrong. The bike starts but when I put it on gear it stalls. Some guy told me that it could be the wiring or it could be one of the safety switches. Please help.

not really sure about the f4, but some bikes have a kill switch associated with the side stand... when teh side stand is down, or if he switch is bad, the bike will kill the ignition. again, not sure about the f4 though

Yeah you have to make sure the stand is up when shifting into first gear. Possibly that sencor is broken and the bike does not recognize that the stand is up.

Hey, it won't let me start a thread yet because I'm new to the site, but I have a slight problem. I have my starter box apart (01 f4i), and have fixed the wiring that snapped in my last wreck. Everything on the switch is soldered properly, but the plastic piece to which they are soldered wont stay put. The hole fits on that little white peg, and the other end of it snaps under that little plastic lip, but when I don't hold it down, the hole pops off the peg and I don't know what I am missing to keep it held in place... there are no pictures that I can find of the inside of the starter box that show this. Any advice?
