Eibach Sportline or H&R Race with koni yellows TOO LOW??
i have koni yellows, and im choosing between eibach sportline and h&r race, but are those springs too low for 4th gen? does it have enough suspension travel? if its too low, is there a way for me to use them without messing up my car?
i wouldn't recomend the sportlines....reason being they are meant for a good drop with stock shocks. If ur going to spend the money on Koni's then get a good spring that will work with them accordingly. maybe the eibach prokit or Tanabe Gripfeeling. i have had both and love them . the Prokit looked lower than stock and the Gripfeeling looked stock..........so i cut them...LOL
I have koni yellows and sportlines and i have no problems at all, if you want pics, look at page 21 of the prelude pictures thread at the bottom...

wtf are you talkin about!?! sportlines with stock shocks would be a nightmare!! sportlines drop the car more than the pro-kit does!!!

i have sportlines and kyb agx... i don't think the drop is crazy drastic or anything - and I drive in some bumpy places... (; the ride is somewhat firmer (obviously) but my comfort level in the car hasn't really changed at all - that is with stock rubber. I was actually quite amazed - I was exspecting to be jutted around after all the threads I read on here. - I imagine it will roughen up when I put different rubber/rims on. - sportlines are only 1.7/1.5 - it's not like you're going over 2 inches.
yeah i had sportlines on stock struts for about six months before i upgraded to Koni's and Prokit
never had a problem with them. i like the abiltiy to change the lower spring perch on the koni's . i was able to obtain the drop that i was wanting with the prokit

I have the Sportlines on my stock shocks. It's not as bad as some people made it out to be. I plan to get some Tokico Illuminas to use with my Sportlines. I heard they're good.

I wish someone had given me some pics of a 4th gen with 1.5" rear lowering...
here goes: eibach sportline with tokico illumina 5 and 17x7.5 215 40r17

a Camber kit is definately needed for the rear. it looks better too.

I have Koni Yellows and H&R race springs... Its a bit too low for my tastes. I cant get on any lifts, and no jacks fit under it. My header is dented up, resonators and can hit the ground every so often. I say get something at least .5" higher.
KYB GR-2's are a great replacement for stock struts. they don't last long on a big drop like that of which u obtain with the sportlines. a better choice would have been a nice set of Tokico blues.
sup, i have h&r race springs w/ the stock shocks and i can vouch that its pretty low. the drop for a 4th gen is 1.9/1.6. the springs leave the back a tiny bit higher than the front, about a finger gap more, which isn't really accurate to judge it by. w/ these springs your gonna want to get a camber kit for the rear at least. the spring rates hold the car pretty nice, but personally id opt for some custom rate ground control sleeves. but if thats not an option, id stick to the h&r's if u want a nice low car. and since u have koni yellow's, you can drop the rear a little bit lower w/ those adjustable perches, just to even out the drop.
thx so much for replies!! would you guys recommend H&R RACE or SPORTLINE if its just for daily driving? which spring rates would be better for a little bit more comfortable but also great cornering? thx so much!!

Sorry for the jack. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I don't think you'll need a camber kit unless you drop greater than 2" - and just from eyeballing my lude (kyb agx/sportlines) I'm not planning on getting one - but i'll have to check tread wear in a bit to say for sure if that's a fair assessment or not - as really i've just put these things on, so it might settle a bit more in the next month or so.

here are pics of what 1.5" rear lowering did without camber kits...

that is 4 and a half months without camber kits. yes the tires were getting on the old side, and that is the only reason that i didnt install them when i installed the sportlines.
IMO, i think that it looks **** poor to have lowered carswith xtreme negative camber. some real cheapskates out there

it's surprising that it did that with only a 1.5" drop - and like i said, I'm going to assess (heh looks like a funny word when typed) the tread wear - obviously eyeballing the camber is a bad way to go about it - but at this point i'm not even aligned since the lowering job cuz i gotta make it to a honda dealership for 4ws, and there ain't one in my town - i'll take there advice/tread wear into consideration and take it from there, i'm not going to just chuck on possibly unnecessary expensive hardware - that requires *further* adjusting , for the hell of it - but if it's beneficial to my particular drop/pocket book (in tire) of course i will.
thats what i did, wait untill i had the wheels i wanted and winter was over. i had the new wheels on for a week b4 i had the camber adjusted...it killed me to know that my rear tires were being killed like that, even if i couldnt see it.
what are some good camber kits?
and how do i check if i have camber kits or not cuz the previous owner told me that the car already had camber kits, thanks

Ingall's are good. Shakes (member on here) might still have some for sale.
IMO, screw a camber kit. Search about it in archives. Some people suggest them, some don't.
