B18c5 or K20 type s
I recently have a b18c5 in my 97 hatch and was thinking of selling the car because I wanted to start working on a k20. I wanted to know if it would be work my money to spend 8g on a k20 swap? Or should I just build up my b18c5?
Thats like saying, ' I have a Stock CRX Si with 0000 original miles and a stock Civic Si with 00000 miles also. Which 1 should I buy? ' Both are extremely good platforms to start with. Its all up to you, your budget, and what you from your car. But IMO, keep the motor you have, that way you'll have more money to put into it and you already have some knowledge of it. - Darrell

I don't know about that one. And keep in mind that I'm a big B-series guy. An internally stock K20 can put out at least as much as a built B18C5 with nothing more than a few bolt-ons. Not that the C5 is bad. I have one in my CRX. And I think it is a GREAT motor. But beat a K-series, it won't. Then again, with a CRX, there are custom fabrication issues that must be dealt with. Even if you use one of those so-called mount kits. Remember that it is basically impossible to have a bolt-in kit for K-series swaps.
