Alternatives to AVS ES100s?
when i dropped my car i didnt get an alignment so now my ES100s are eaten up. i really like these tires and they are fairly cheap. i was wondering if there are any other tires in the same class/price range with similar performance (id like a little more tread life)?
Falken 512. longer life, about same price / low (depends on site).
Kumho or Hankook Ventus Hrii H405 & Radial K106
and i have es100 too. very good tires. iam gonna try falken512 or Hankook Ventus next time

What size are you looking to run?? What did you like about the ES100's, what did you dislike (besides treadlife)?? This will give us a better idea of what tire might be right for you.
Dunlop has just released the new Direzza DZ101. This tire will be priced competatively with the ES100, and is available right now. This tire was adapted from the Direzza that's been out in Japan for a while now...

I have driven the Direzza's on Dunlop's test track in a 2005 Mustang GT during a Ride & Drive event. I was very surprised by how predictable the handling was. The car went where it was pointed, grip was excellent, and the limits of the tire were very clear when reached. During our 90 minute track demo, the tires seemed to hold up very well to our abuse. Overall, I was very happy with them...they will be a great option for people shopping in this price range.
I have a friend with an 04 WRX wagon rolling on ES100's. He's pretty happy with them. I've been on weekend road trips in that vehicle, and the tires HOWL. They are anything but quiet, and he's got about 10k on them so far. He doesn't seem to mind, but for long highway trips, I prefer that he doesn't drive
Let me know if I can answer any other tire questions for you

road noise road noise, stop being such a pansy. whatever tires u get, they are going to get eaten up if you are too dumb/cheap(choose one or both) to get an alignment.
falken ziex 512's are pretty good tires. they are a GREAT all season tire, but they are loud when ur taking fast corners. i dont care about tire/road noise because my fuel pump is louder than anything else.

im looking for 205/50/15. i loved the ES100s but my dumbass fucked up and didnt get that alignment. i have about 10k on the tires but i need to change em quick. i was just wondering if there were any alternatives to them in the same price range that offer similar performance. what about ZIEXs?

I've got a set of 205/50/16 ES100's on the Civic. Now that they have about a year of driving on 'em (10,000 miles of mostly highway driving, no track events, etc.) they have gotten noticably louder. It might just be my imagination, but the sidewalls seem to have gotten a bit softer as well, which only gets worse as outside temps increse...
Regardless, my next set of tires WILL have a stiffer sidewall. These things just get too squishy when it's hot out, but they are rock solid and dead on predictable in colder temps (anything below 50 degrees).
I'm considering stepping up to 215/45/16 Hankook Rs2's for my next tires depending on reviews as to what kind of tread life I can expect. Right now, it seems like the ES100's will still be just fine up 'till about 25K-30K miles or so...hard to say though.
I just put a set of 205/60/15 Falken ZX 512's on my bro's '02 Accord though and those things are AWESOME! They are just tiny biut noisey for all-season tires, IMO, but the performance that they deliver more than makes up for it, especially considering how cheap they were (~$39 a tire).
They seem to be great "daily driver" tires and so far they do awesome in the wet, dry, and even light snow. They should last a good while too, although the ES100's should be noticably better in the dry given that they are more performance-oriented.
My ES100's do excellent in the wet as well, making them very predicatable.
But yeah, if I don't end up getting the Hankook Rs2's, I'll probablly give the Toyo Proxes 4's a try...they're supposed to be very similiar in performance.

I'm also considering alternatives to the ES100s for my next set of tires. I've been particularly interested in the Hankook RS2's, which I believe are in the same class as the Azenis?
But back to the original question. IMO, for the performance and price you pay, the tread life on the ES100s is pretty good. So if you are considering another tire in this price/performance range, the alternatives will most likely have a tread life equal to or less than the ES100s.

First, since you are in San Diego, I assume you are not going to use the tires in snow and frigid cold. So ignore all the all season tires (e.g. Toyo Proxes 4) that people are suggesting. You don't need an all season tire.
There are other tires that offer similar price and performance to the ES100, including the previously-mentioned Dulop Direzza DZ101, the Fuzion ZRi, and the Avon Tech M500. However, if you are primarily concerned about treadlife, I agree with Moogen Powah:
