Default Beltronics SUCKS

my Beltronics Vector 995 radar detector crapped out after only 8 months (including the winter when I hardly drove my RSX at all), first it started acting all crazy like suddenly giving full-strength alerts in the middle of nowhere, now it just displays "service required"... they won't repair it under warranty because I dont have the original receipt, EVEN THOUGH I REGISTERED THE WARRANTY BACK IN SEPT. AND THEY HAVE ME IN THEIR DATABASE. I thought that was the whole f***ing point of registering the warranty??? What a useless $279 piece of ****, I'm sending it back to them anyway so they can stuff it up their ***.

Now ordering a Valentine 1 like I should have in the first place.

I'm not sure why people waste their time with the other devices. All radar detector will eventually loose their calibration and thus their range. Valentine will recalibrate your radar. They even offer free software upgrades when applicable.

Oh, and I by no means endorse this idea

IMO the other radars are throw away radar detectors. Kinda of like buying a Kia. Not something you intend to keep for a long time. Valentine are worth keeping. You can see the build quality in them. Metal chassis vs plastic chassis..........hmmm not at tough choice.

Escort Passport and the higher end Beltronics units use the same electronics now...
screw it, I don't want it anymore, even if I got a brand new one. if someone wants to buy it cheap and get it repaired/recalibrated, let me know; Beltronics charges $85 compared to 280-300 for a new one

My V1 should be here tomorrow.
