Removing H22A4
If you have a cherrypicker do it from the top. If not the bottom with a jack and a friend or two hanging around to watch and possibly help.
well i prefer to drop... reason being is you dont want to scratch things when you lift it up top.
i've done both. and top is also more of a hassle if you dont have a leveler.

It depends on what equipment you have. Do you have a jack tall enough to jack up the front of the car so it goes over the motor?
I prefer coming from the top since I can see everything that might snag. A leveler works great, but if you chain it up with the transmission side lower, it's easier to maneuver it in. Drop the motor so the tranny goes under the left side frame, push the motor over to the left, then you should have room to drop the timing belt side.
[edit]D'oh! He wants to remove it?
I'd still pull it from the top. Again, it's easier to see what snags, vacuum lines, coolant hoses, etc.
