Help: Need new Throttle Angle Sensor
My 1992 Integra LS (B18B1) has a bad TAS. Its not available seperately from the dealer, and they want $477 for a new throttle body. Also, its on national backorder!
Does anyone have a used throttle body they could sell me or any suggestions on where to find one?
Is the TAS a non-replaceable part because it needs to be somehow indexed in the throttle body?
Thanks!!

dude, you mean TPS (throttle Position Sensor) and yeah they are sold with the throttle body assembly at the dealer. for US spec cars that sensor is stuck on using Rivet screws and set at the factory.
Supposedly the TPS is a non-replaceable part, the dealer requires that you buy a new throttle body cause that sensor needs to be Calibrated from the factory and therefore put on using Rivet screws so no one tampers with it.
If you find a replacement TPS sensor off another Throttle body, you will need to buy new screws. What you do is take a dremel or hack saw, cut a - into the screws and take it out using a big flat screw driver. After which you take the new one put it on and tap into the middle wire to calibrate it to .5 volts.
If you ask me it's all a total Bitch to do it, just do yourself a favor, and buy another complete LS TB or upgrade to a Type R one.

Yes, TPS is the same thing, the Acura manuals all refer to it as TAS.
I wish I could just upgrade the part but its a Honda Challenge car so I have to use stock parts, and I just can't see paying $500 for a new throttle body when a whole car is only about $1000 used.
