I have 96 Accord with H22 swap. CEL light comes on once in a while around 5th gear @ ~50mph. I check the CEL codes and its 12 and 23 ..

CODE 12 - EGR - exhaust gas recirculation lift valve
CODE 23 - Knock sensor

.. now .. who knows how to fix these problems? does Knock sensor mean the sensor is bad or that its sensing knock? Code 12 mean the ERG lift valve is bad or that the EGR valve is sensing a problem?

 

the first thing i would check for code#12 is that all the vacuum lines are connected....

code 23 does not mean that the knock sensor is bad... check electrical connection first

Ya man thats EXCELENT! the h22 motor is obd1 so its all god. I just need to see the other pages for the EGR . (2-5) .. also .. what is the test harness they speak of in the knock diagram?
