VAFC wiring : OBD1 VS OBD2B
Hi guys I got my ecu and i tried it on .. (OBD1) p28 i think.. and yea..car was running fine but when it got warmed up .. it idled funny.. like the rpm keeps going up and down. I have vafc hooked up to my obd2 ecu..
so. is there any differance in wiring.. obd1 vs obd2?
ok. here's how my vafc and ecu wirings... (everyone should have same)

any help would be nice

When I installed my Kenji p28 with OBD2->OBD1 conversion harness when it warmed up it would hunt(idle up and down a bit) with the VAFCII it did the same thing. Adjusted the idle and all is fine now.
It never happened with my stock p73 ECU as soon as I changed to the chipped P28 with conversion harness it started. I played around with the idle adjustment and now it doesn't hunt anymore.
I put the VAFCII in after switching ECU's

there is actually a kenji fix for that idle hunt. something about disconnecting the purge control solenoid.

On the D16 SOHC engine, the purge vacuum source is ported vacuum coming off of the throttle body, as opposed to the type-r which uses straight intake manifold vacuum. The type-r ecu only allows purge control activation above a certain rpm/manifold pressure (I'm not sure which, I would have to look it up ). The big vacuum hose going to the purge control valve on the firewall is where leak is. Unplug the electrical connection to that valve and see if you still get the symptoms. Or pinch the hose with needlenose pliers. Good luck."</TD></TR></TABLE>
