When I installed my Kenji p28 with OBD2->OBD1 conversion harness when it warmed up it would hunt(idle up and down a bit) with the VAFCII it did the same thing. Adjusted the idle and all is fine now.

so the vafc stays same wired? doesnt matter if it's obd2 or obd1?
so is it normal to idle like that?

It never happened with my stock p73 ECU as soon as I changed to the chipped P28 with conversion harness it started. I played around with the idle adjustment and now it doesn't hunt anymore.

I put the VAFCII in after switching ECU's

there is actually a kenji fix for that idle hunt. something about disconnecting the purge control solenoid.

I seached under

"idle kenji" in the archived itr forum

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kenji &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">"The P28 ecu turns on the purge control solenoid at idle; with a type-r manifold, that means a large vacuum leak. On the D16 SOHC engine, the purge vacuum source is ported vacuum coming off of the throttle body, as opposed to the type-r which uses straight intake manifold vacuum. The type-r ecu only allows purge control activation above a certain rpm/manifold pressure (I'm not sure which, I would have to look it up ). The big vacuum hose going to the purge control valve on the firewall is where leak is. Unplug the electrical connection to that valve and see if you still get the symptoms. Or pinch the hose with needlenose pliers. Good luck."</TD></TR></TABLE>
