4 doors do NOT have a different glovebox, Im using one in my car right now, that I personnally pulled from a Civic 4dr.
And my Civic is a HB.

Get your facts straight, man.

I'm using a Civic HB glovebox in my CRX right now. I looked at some '88-'91 Civic 4-doors, but the glovebox LOOKED like it was different. The ones I saw at the junkyard had like a padded glovebox door, instead of the hard plastic the CRX/Civic HB ones have.

I didn't actually pull one and try it, but to me it looked like it wasn't going to work. Kryogen says it will, so maybe it's worth a try.

Keep us posted.

Mike

again your wrong, they are not padded or anything they are the same size and shape but only come in 2 colors, blue and tan.

I bet you didnt know either that you can swap any dash from Civic hb's CRX's and 4drs with each other too.

I been doing this **** for too long man, i know just about every interchangable part there is on ED model Civics.

Other than me having a 4 door glove box in my hatch which looks completely stock, I gave my friend a glovebox out of another HB to put in his 4door....WORKED FINE....I dont know what you got to prove by trying to prove me wrong because you HEARD it doesnt work, But me from 1st hand knowledge know they do swap.

STOP trying to give people misinformation....If you dont know first hand DONT POST.
hearsays bullshit.

My glovebox has the "padding" that I refer to as lining on the inside portion of it.

Don't point the blame. You have the diagrams, so why didn't you look at them before buying on ebay. Even if you didn't have them beforehand, you easily could have and it's still your fault for listening to someone on the internet tell you what to buy.

Anyway to cut the losses and swap the brackets so it will work? Doesn't seem like it'd take too much if you still have the brackets from your old glovebox...unless you don't have that.

Good luck.

yeah, i already ordered them from the honda dealership by me. it's called a "striker" and hopefully it fits right... but damn it, reading his post made me certain that he was 100% positive that it will fit, and stupid me.. i didn't bother to find out for myself after it came in and didn't close...

i got the striker (took 2 goddamn weeks) and it bolts up perfectly..
the golve box fits perfect (no superhard rubbing) and the ONLY downside is that it does differ in color.. slightly

the difference apparently is all 88-89 are the same. 90-91 glove boxes are different on 4drs. according to the parts diagram at least.

something i didnt know previously myself.

that glovebox damper #9 is interesting...

well thats what i thought, but my friend has 2 hatches; he drives one around, the other is in my back yard...

an 88 white hatch, and a 91 hatch. BOTH of which have the same type of handle/**** that mine was supposed to come with. this leads me to believe that the sedan is the different one.

(and my lil' bro has a 88' rex that is THE SAME as the hatches)
