Time for the R to go...
Well guys, due to me going off to college next September and being weary of it getting stolen on campus, I'm putting it up for sale. I have thought about keeping it at home but it seems like a waste of a car payment and insurance to drive it once a month, plus I'd like to have a car down at OSU.

Anything I'm forgetting that's important?

I respect your decision but in my opinion I would just keep it and drive it. I'll be damned if thieves would keep me from owning the car I want and love. That's what insurance is for. I hope everything works out for you though.
Yeah, long story short, in college I would start paying for insurance on the R in college. I can afford the car, but it will be easily to pay for it with a less expensive one, plus I'll be able to actually modify what I get. On top of that it would be in a campus parking lot, outside, something that I haven't done yet. Besides, my last car I delt with insurance a lot, it wasn't fun
. I'll get another one out of college hopefully..

Good decision. Just get a POS to drive around during your college career. (Older Civic and the likes) I'd hate to worry about the R during classes or tests. I'm glad I didn't have an R when I was in college.
Also, college parking lots = door ding central.

i asked you a few questions in your fs post. i had a gs-r and si down at osu, you'd be surprised, it seems pretty tame down there theft wise. vandalism is the biggest problem there.
I went through the same thing as you are because i just finished my freshman year w/o my R. i left it at home. But for my soph year i will be living in a house with a garage. i will have 2 roommates and both of them have cars, but they know the deal. Haha. the garage is mine!
$16k is a reasonable asking price... but, I doubt you'll get that high with such a high mileage.
If you want $16k, just be patient, and someone will buy it. G'luck with your sale.

Damn its a clean 97' those are getting more rare every day. I say do whatever it takes to keep it. Itll be hard to find another one. Keep the R and buy a POS.
