Default How long can the stock shocks last with lowering springs...?

I'm deciding to lower my 00 Civic Si with Tein lowering springs (around 1.8" drops) coz I don't have much budget .......

I'm just wondering if I put the lowering springs on my stocks shocks (around 80K on the shocks), approximately how long can the shocks last if I drive normal daily?

From what I remember ...some of the roads around the GTA are pretty rough.... a 1.8inch drop isn't much....but I suggest you try and score yourself a set of SiR dampers and run them with ITR springs and ITR tophats....

This has proven to be a very, very good OEM street setup on a budget vs. performance scale.

With your Teins + stock dampers, you can probably expect another year or so of driving on them.... we noticed that the heavier the car, the sooner it tends to go....(common sense working there)

Way too many factors to give an accurate answer. You should just plan on spending your next $300 on some decent replacement struts.

I've heard of people putting many more miles than that on stockers with springs, but in my 99 Civic I went 1 week before I blew a shock with Eibach pro-kits. I don't recall hitting anything too hard or anything, just one morning it started sqeaking and it was oiled down. The stockers had ~70,000 miles on them.

You might as well just buy new shocks anyway. That way you don't do the labor twice.
