inexpensive ways to speed up a carburated 82 prelude
Thats kind-of a silly question asking how to make a car "fast". Well, you can roll it down a hill or you can put some money into it and do a motor swap. Like a jdm b20 or an h22 if you really want a project. If you are going to stick with that motor though I really cannot help you because I don't know as much as I would like to know about carbeurated motors.
you guys are dicks ....
start with getting some weber side drafts on it ..mill the head a bunch and find a good regrind cam ...try to find a header that fits or fab one up
it could be a quick liitle car..dont expect much but the nice thing is most of these parts will come pretty cheap
i have a friend with an 85 carbed and he rebuilt it bored milled and even withthe stock carbs it still hauls some pretty good as

If you do a google search, like "1st gen Prelude," you might come up with some stuff. There are a few of these cars still out there and even fewer people who fix them up, but you can find them.

I jetted the carbs on my bike and combined with a good exhaust, that was a pretty sweet upgrade. If you dont want to get a whole new carb setup, jetting the carbs you have could be a fairly cheap option.
