Default I have another coolant leak.... sigh..............

Yo whats up. I'm sure some of you guys remember me with my overheating issues and such. In case not, I'll fill you in a bit.

Car was overheating and leaking antifreeze for a while. I replaced the radiator with a brand new one, all good. Car was good for a few weeks then one day I noticed the temps going up, and then they went back down... while crusing on the highway. Appears it only happens when I have the A/C on or the climate control dial turned to cool. If its on heat, it doesnt overheat. Been doing that for a while. Bought a thermostat but never had time to change it (And I was lazy..... ). Now.......... I got another issue.

I pull up to the office at work today and find a puddle of coolant under the car. Thing hasnt leaked at all in like 2 months. So I take a quick look and see the bottom of the motor is wet by the firewall, underneath the intake manifold. What the heck is back there?!

I popped the hood today again when I got the car home. I saw some actually dripping out the back of the motor.. I looked down and it appears to be coming from the back of the block, underneath the intake mani on the driver side of the car. I ahve no idea what could be back there....... I dont think its the head gasket cause the car isnt blowing any smoke and is running perfect other than this. I guess it is a possibility though.

So my question is what could possibly be leaking in that location. I got a chiltons book but didnt find much in it that really jumped out at me.

The car is a 93 integra GS. Thanks for any help!!!!

I am working on my 2nd radiator in 2 months so I feel your pain. YOu really have to get under the car with a flashlight to find the leak. The coolant can leak and travel down diff parts to make it seem like the leak is obvious. If you can't find the leak then get a pressure tester. You can buy one at Sears, which is a good investment for 50 bucks or you can rent one at Autozone. The pressure tester will direct you to your leak most of the time. Check you oil to make sure it's not milky. In all honesty, with cooling systems you have to change a lot of the parts at the same time. Did you change your hoses, stat and cap? Did you bleed it correctly? Did you bleed and refill properly. Remember you have to let the cars fans kick in a few times while bleeding. I always keep an eye on my coolant levels for a few weeks to make sure there arent leaks. I've realized that the cooling system is a bitch. Cheap aftermarket radiators IMO cannot handle the pressure of our high revving techs and most radiator companies admit that. A lot of ppl just change one part of the cooling system and then all these other leaks show up. Then you replace that part and happens somewhere else. But get under the car with a light and wipe down the areas and see where the leak really is.

Behind the block is usually where the Water Pipe that connects the t-stat to the water pump is located. Along that pipe, hoses that either connect one valve to another on the same pipe, or from the water pipe to some other part, are located.

Replace all the little hoses under the intake manifold, you can use hose from your local parts store, but the bypass hose ( which looks like a U ) I would buy from dealer $4, cause if you try to bend a hose like that, it will kink and cut off flow.

Remember, after 12 yrs or so, all rubber components start to deteriate and need replacement. Items like hoses, belts, bushings and the like.

Ah, I bet thats what it is.... my T-stat has been sticking lately, more than usual. Maybe the pressure poped the hose off or something.

I had a coolant leak in almost the same area but more towards the pulley side and it was the water pump. Do you know if your water pump has ever been changed?
