Default Anyone here have any luck with Grounding kits?

Which one did you go with? I bought the Apexi as suggested by my tuner and I am anxious to see if I can scrounge up a little extra power from it. I know how important THE GROUND was when I used to tune stereo systems, and I assume it transfers over.
Thanks.....

i have seen supposed dyno sheets where a grounding kit made 9whp, however im not completely sure i believe it, it could have been a motor that wasnt grounded properly in the first place, or just a fluke, however good grounding is important, you can make a very good grounding kit by yourself with wire you can buy at hardware or audio shops. i wouldnt expect any noticeable difference though, even the 9hp they got on the dyno would barely be noticeable most likely. it is good for your engine to be grounded well and it should idle smoother if its not grounded properly already. hope i didnt sound pessimistic about it, i just dont believe in spending whatever they are charging these days for a couple lengths of wire and hoping it will give my car some boost in performance i have yet to see very good numbers on, esp when i can make it myself for a fraction of the cost....

Well, it seems like all grounding kits are the same except the APEXi. The other kits look like a tangle of 8ga wire with some fancy looking connectors, while APEXi has a voltage conditioner. As far as the 9hp gain, I would just have to assume that the car had a horrble ground to begin with. I will be installing the kit along with my new header on Tuesday, and I will be sure to post my Dyno results as I will be going the next day. I won't be able to say exactly what the Ground kit made, but I will see what the combo nets for me.....All in the QUEST to 200whp/160tq all motor!
