Default Electric water pumps?

Has anyone ever bought one of those electric water pumps like they sell at Summit. I am assembling my motor soon and before I buy a stock pump, I was wondering if these work well, or can net any kind of gain? I am going all motor using pretty much all stock CTR goodies, except Crower valve springs, and titianium retainers, and the addition of a block guard. Cams, and Pistons, are CTR, ITR header, Ported and Polished B17a intake manifold, a AEM CAI, LOCASH MUGEN chipped ECU, and adjustable cam gears, haven't got these yet, they won't be AEM, everything else is accounted for. In all motor trim I figure I could free up some ponies with this pump. Parasitistic loss sucks ***!!! Any help is much appreciated.

The loss is minimal, and not worth endangering your car. Electric = Race only!

If they came out with some sort of thermostatic switch, I'd look into it, but the motor just can't warm up with an electric pump... It flows too well.. They even push past a normal thermostat...

why not hook that into the thermostat switch for the radiator fan? That might come on a little to late though.... unless you get a lower temp switch from spoon or mugen... just a thought. I've been thinking about one also.
