Limits of dampening for "stock" Koni Yellows
Setup #1:
92 Civic Si hatch, turbo-B18B swap
400F/500R Ground Controls, 2-2.5" Drop
ES poly bushings
Function-7 rear LCAs
Stock front swaybar
00 GSR rear swaybar
Mixture of streetrace/roadracing/daily driving on bumpy roads. Potentially some autocross/drag racing, but likely minimal compared to aggressive street usage.
Handling first, comfort second. Can a set of stock Koni Yellows keep up or should I look into getting revalved/shortened shocks from the start?
Setup #2:
93 Ex Coupe, D series (supercharged) motor
ES Poly bushings
Stock front swaybar
96 LS rear swaybar, 94 GSR rear LCAs
Koni yellows, ??? springs
85% daily driving on bumpy city roads, 10% streetrace, 4% autocross, 1% drag
What about with set springs? Can a set of "stock" yellows keep up with Eibach Sportline? Neuspeed Sport? Neuspeed Race? HR Sport? HR Race? No more than 2.5" drop requirement, comfort very important, don't want to compromise handling too much.
My basement is starting to look like a Koni warehouse... Have 3x 92-00 Koni reds (front), 2x 96-00 Koni yellows (rear), 2x 92-95 Koni Yellows (rear), 2x 92-00 Koni Yellows (front)
Also have 94-01 teg front (but not rear. grrr!) Neuspeed sport springs.
Also have 96-00 complete set Eibach Prokit springs...
Also have several sets of **** threaded sleeve e-bay junk *** coilovers...
I need to get this **** on the cars and stop scratching my head trying to figure out which combo to run lol...

the search button is ur friend.
the koni yellow's limit is like 500-550 lb/inch.
it should handle setup #1 just fine.
setup #2: it's very hard to find springs that will take ur koni yellows to the limit or beyond. you are going to need to find springs with custom rates..aka gc's just like u have. you can contact eibach about making you custom rates for springs alone. it might be expensive tho.
if any of your koni's do decide to blow, you can just get them revalved.
