another question on this wrecked civic
here we go again guys. Im not a civic expert so i come to yall. Here we go. A friend wants me to repair her civic and is willing to pay. repairing the front end of a 92 hatch. How hard is this?? SHe rear ended someone,, nothing terrible, but the front end needs to be replaced. IS this possible with just me a friend to change some body panels??? What else to expect if this is possible???
cant tell on the frame, she is going to have a professional look at it, or maybe an insurnace adjuster. From what i can gather the radiator supports may be bent.
if there s any frame damage then ull need a pro..but if u have basic mechanical skills u can do alot of the work urself..get a helms manual..ull get alot of instructions in there..

if the frame is bent then it will need to be taken to a shop than can strech it back out, usually thi can be done inexpensively. Replacing body panels is pretty easy, mostly bolt on bolt off affair. I reccomend getting them painted before putting them on. If it was a serious front end collision then you may need to look at the engine block to see if the motor mounts shifted or damaged the block. Radiator and ac system shoould be inspected.
here is what i know:
speed involved--around 25-30mph is not less.
car hit: towncar
simple rearending, stright on.
upon a simple inspection at the towing company the engine appears to be in the original position.
The motor mounts are in there original condition and position.
The radiator has been hit and moved back aginst the exhaust.
All pullies and belts are still on.
i have been told, but havnt seen.. that the car starts and can be driven around the yard.
no glass is broken and no airbags went off....dont know why.
other then that, thats what ive got for now.
How does that sound????

if your radiator is touching your header that means you definately have frame damage...btw....where can i find body panels for cheap???
25-30 MPH and the airbags didn't go off? If I was her I would look into getting a lawyer. At the least, Honda will settle with her by giving her a new car. Then you wouldn't have to stress all the unibody damage. Just my opinion. Later.
