how much is DC headers? $300-$350?

why not spend another $150 and get a prospeed header for $500, but if you really want to see high numbers go for Hytech or SMSP. they run for about $900+ btw.

the gains are WAY better then the DC.

heres a pic of it

im sure you can order them. and these are WAY better then DC.

theres a thread about DC JDM and USDM header comparison on a dyno. and the DC barly beat the JDM header.

i just did a search for DC headers and they were selling for $400 or so. Just put out another $100 and get the prospeed. its worth the money.

but if you have the money go for hytech and smsp :D... i remember a thread a whiel ago. this one guy had like 29whp from a SMSP.

heres a comparison of stock,DC, and SMSP headers.

check this out ... stock untuned vs smsp tuned ... they pulled 15whp with VAFC

http://www.sms-products.com
http://www.importpowerhouse.com
http://www.prospeedpower.com
http://www.kteller.com
http://www.hytechexhaust.com

put it this way
350 for DC header that put out 6 whp = 53 dollars a hp

my RMF header which is supposed to put down roughly 20 whp is 800 dollars = 40 dollars a hp.

I've got a DC header on my 97' SH (which is coming off this weekend since I'm going turbo ) and it seemed to pull a little better than the stock header, but my stock one also had a huge dent where the previous owner bottomed out the car.

I used a g-tech to do a before and after and it showed an average of around 7-8 horsepower increase (remember that my stock downpipe was dented).

If you're planning on staying N/A and want more power, I'd listen to the others and spend a little more for a nicer header.

stamp collector is where the primaries are just welded together, merge is basically a port/polish of the collector area that smoothes out the transition, it adds a few whp

DC sports header.

You lose little low end, gain some mid/top end. The quality sucks. I had it on my 00 SH and the thing oxidized (rust) after a year or two.

Also, the flanges are known to crack and cause rattling noises.

IMO, I would go with something else. If you do get one, get a SS (Stainless Steel) and not a CC (Ceramic Coated).

You gotta be kidding me. You haven't even dynoed it to verify that it'll put down 20whp! Stop trying to justify spending 800 bucks on some header. If you manage to get 10whp, then that's $80/hp for you. Sucks huh?

The DC is an improvement over stock, but not much. Open up the collector on the secondary runners and it'll help some more. It's not the individual parts that make HP, it's the sum of all the parts combined.

DC Sports was the header to have back in the day when there was no other competition. Now that there are MANY more advanced designs out there, DC Sports is not a great choice.

Plus, DC Sports has not proven to be a well made product.

I would do it right the first time and get a nice header. It is the most economical that way.

the SS headers look prettier, but gain wise I doubt theres going to be much difference, at the very least I'd at LEAST go with a Greddy & modify the collector to 2.5, but if you got the money its well worth it to pay more now for a better header then waste money switching later.

It is never drama free when you mod cars. You will get gains, but not that much. If you do get it, modify the collector to 2.5.

Yes, but it's not a replacement for a real dyno.. As long as the road is completely flat, I can do 4-5 runs in a row and get a consistent # each time within 1-2 HP.

Right now it's showing about 170whp which is about right for the few mods I have..
