Been done..... seen one with a rear engine rear drive.

There was an all wheel drive from the factory, last time i saw the article it was in the ITR forum.

And i think there was another where someone swaped in a different engine. Maybe a CRV??Pilot????

b20 block, CRV axels, couple other things i believe. its AWD w/ CRV u would have to cut some wiring to disable the front axel or sumthin along those lines, i never looked into it deeply

My guess would be look into how a crv is set up. I know someone did thsi awhile back and used most of the crv driveline, then modified them to fit on his integra.

I think it would be stupid to spend sooo much money on making the car RWD. If you want RWD then why not buy a car that is designed to be RWD. I mean you're still gonna get smoked by an S2K either way.

why would you want to do such a thing and spend so much damn money to do it... if you want RWD just buy 240 sx or a mr2 and spend that money on some engine work

If you're serious then do some research, get your own parts list and do it. The worst thing to do is to get the ideas and opinions of 19 year old newbie's who have only "seen" or "heard" or "read" about rwd conversion but have never even rebuilt an engine much less pull an engine out of their car.

You say money is no option, cool, congrats on being loaded.

However do you have any mechanical skills?

Are you familiar with the geometry and engineering aspects of such a conversion?

Can you weld and fabricate new mounts, frame reinforcements, and still maintain a close tolerance build?

Are you familiar with weight displacement, oversteer characteristics, and spring loads?

Any ideas on gas tank relocation, wiring harness lenghtening, battery relocation, motor mount location, or your custom header/exhaust configuration?

How do you plan on locating your air filter so that it receives a constant stream of fresh air?

How do you plan on keeping your engine from overheating when your radiator is in the trunk?

Once you finally get it running, how you plan on getting it registered and drive it on the street? I really dont think the police will be amused when they ask you to pop your hood and find a big hole?

I know these obstacles can be overcome, a few people have done this conversion. If you're serious, then you need to take a serious approach at doing this.

But I promise you they didnt start out by getting a parts list on a internet forum.

Wiser words were never spoken.

Anyone can talk the talk, but only a few can back it up with automotive know how.

Read that thread then prepare to bust out the hand lotion for a little 'you know what'.

That's right kids. RWD Integra Type R Drift Car.

I'm sure this team get's a **** load of requests on how they did it...bleh bleh bleh. If you sound genuinely interested, I'm sure they could point you in the proper direction. Good luck.

**** Jerry, good post. I know your being factual when you say these things. I hope nobody takes out of context that your scolding this kid or yelling at him. I certainly do not perceive it that way.

Last I heard of this conversion, it cost some poor sucker over 25K. I'm simply hoping that this person calls the team I posted up with the Drifto ITR so they can give him the full realities of such a task.

Thanks, I really didnt mean to come off condensending. Well...maybe a little

I cant help but find it irratating when people ask these kind of questions when common sense should tell them that if he has to ask a messege board for help, he's probably not in a position to build a car of this magnitude. Basically, if you have to ask, you aint ready.

I didnt even mention the common problems like throttle cable, a/c lines, heater hoses, brake booster, shift linkage, fuel lines, list goes on and on.

Jerry,

I hear you on this one. You speak from experience obviosly. Myself, I worked in a shop which is owned by one of the original editors of 'The Goodguys Gazette' during my high school days. All we did was custom work, and I know how extensive and costly something like this is. In a nutshell one would be building a completely new car less the body and part of the interior. If the bill in labor alone isn't enough to make you **** your pants then I don't know what is.

What I find irritating and more times than not to be funny - are about 80% of the posts that are on the first page of the Integra forum alone. Such redundent, off base, completely stupid questions...all the time. It's always some 18 kid who is getting this or that and wants to know how to do something that he heard from someone in his 5th period class.

Bleh. I'm just ranting, but we definately see eye to eye on this. Did you happen to check out the thread of that ITR drifting?

I did check out that thread and I think it's absolutely fantastic that someone had the ability to pull it off.

On Team Integra.net, I wish I knew the thread link, there is a guy who is building a RWD Integra using a H22 engine. Everyone was flaming him because they thought it was just another ****** acting like a know it all. Until he posted up pics. He bought two cars, a Prelude and an Integra. He then basically hacked up the Prelude so all was left was the engine bay and mounted that engine bay into the trunk of his Integra. Absolutely nuts...
