????Smokn????
I have a 91 accord Lx. i just put in a new motor and now my car smokes ( white ). it only smokes when the car is cold and once it warms up it stops smoking. i've asked a few ppl and got different answers. some say its my catalytic converter some say its a sensor? which one do i go with?
OR!!!!! It is a snowballs chance . You might have a tad of water in the oil there. If the motor been sitting awhile . your gonna have that . due to condensation and well just Plane old sitting and getting old
well when i i let it run and go to look at my exhaust theres a little water around the tip. So that does sound sufficent thanks. but how long will this last? i just got the car back yesterday.
well my cars been sittin since december! cuz the crankshaft broke. so i decided to change the engine and get the crankshaft fixed. so i just finally got the car back and its may. so should i just change the oil?
lol...i would say so. Im curious though, if this is condensation...does it only happen in the morning? Does it smoke when the car has been sitting and the temperature is warm outside?
Also...whoever told you your cat was causing the smoke, please go punch them in the throat.

the guys dat said the cat i dunno i wasn't to sure of that so thats why i posted on here, lol. but it smokes when the engine is cool, like a cold start. i don't really use the car till midday. i live in michgan and its been a pretty cold summer so far.

well there much oil in my car. my boy that did the engine swap obviously forgot to tell me to add oil. neways..... i added about 3 quarts and its still doin the smokin thang when its cold. would i let the oil cycle threw a few times and then change it?
lol...can i make a suggestion without you taking offense? Get off the damn internet and bring it to a honda dealership or garage that can be trusted and have them look at it...your story sounds like normal "steam" (condensation) that comes out in the morning...you've yet to answer my question if it does the same thing if you were to start it in the afternoon when its warm outside...and really, i think you'll just be better off having someone automotive savey close to you look at it because with your knowledge (or lack there of) your not helping yourself any here and we cant really help you because from what you've described, it seems like your car is just running fine.
