allo,

i've had this rattle for a while now but my car has been out of service for the past month so i'm just getting around to fixing it.

i searched and read a lot about it being the heatshiled on the cat, but i don't have a cat to have a heat shield.. straight back exhaust w. dummy on it.. so is highly unlikely that is what rattling... today i pulled on the throttle cable a little to try and determine where it was coming from and i believe it is somewhere under the intake manifold. the rattling occurs mainly in the lower rpms especially when idling.

side note: i idle at 1.5k rpm, i remember reading an article of where to fix this but can't remember where, has anyone read the article that can link me?

i only really know what i read so i don't have too much experience actually working on cars so i'm not completely sure, i also read that it could be the headers? was just curious if anyone else had this problem with a straight back eliminating the usual head shield rattle found in integras.

im havin the same problems....not one heatshield left and still rattles...seems to be coming somewhere on the driver side of the car...bout to go do some investigating...will let you know

 

 

heat shield bro, I had this problem like 5 times, no matter how many times you replace the heat shield, it still becomes loose

 

rod bearing known to go out i had 4 motors same thing happens to all if it gets louder and louder well its going to cost 35 for rod bearing but your need to get it turned so roughly 200$ in all

 

A rod bearing wouldn't make the noise at low rpm and not at a high rpm. I would just start touching things with the motor running (besides the obvious) to see if it quiets the rattle
