Default Help: Buying a WW RS full kit

Very luckily, after almost 6 months WW has been out of business, I found it. However, I need help to prevent scam. I'm buying it used and the kit is still on the car, and it is black, (match my color) the paint looks good, but there is a light scratch on the skirt, and the rear lip has melted a little by the muffler. My main concern is the front lip does not fit the car perfectly. The guy said it is because he didn't use factory tape.

The lip does not fit on the body perfectly? the corners at the top under the turn signal light are a little bit tilted upward. When I push it real hard, it does go back in. Is it what it suppose to be? I'm worryed, he is asking 450 firm, does it worth the money? please let me know, thanks.

The area under the turn signal is the weak link on the front of the 4th gen lip. It's only held on by sticky tape, and after time it wears out, and it begins to come down, and come away from the bumper. It does not fit perfectly, but I think you can tap a screw behind it to hold it there.

Is it true that the lip kit is discontinued??

It says temporarily closed?? Not shut down for good right, unless that's just a BS way to say it.

Not sure, I'm disappointed too, people keep telling me it is out of business when I ask.

Some body shops told me they will come back at April, but....

Next April??
Damn, how the hell did WW go out of business, they make some of the best body parts for cars...there must be some serious management issues or something. That's disappointing, I needed to get another WW RS too and ebay has nothing.

You could use some 3M heavy duty double sided tape. As a matter of fact, I have a roll of it that I'll sell you. I used some for my lip kit, and there's more than enough left, cause it doesn't take much to put your lip kit on. If you would like to buy it off me, just let me know.

To homesauce: No, this year. I asked them earlier this year.

To prelude1897: Does it really have enough? How much you are letting it go. Anyways, I might get some from my friends, or I will buy them.

Does the tape will eventually wear out?

I got some extra tape from WW (identical to 3M's red tape), and that area right underneath the front turn signal lights is definitely a stress point for the kit. After a while, the tape can't hold the lip to the bumper as strong as it could the first day you install it. Mine went out after about a month or two, and the only solution I came up with was glue.

I used an industrial grade adhesive from 3M, and applied to directly to affected area. I held the kit up by stuffing books underneath the lip so that the glue can set itself properly. It's held up well for the past 2 months, but the only problem that I see is if I want to take the kit off, it's going to take the paint with it as well.

the tape comes with the lip but your suppose to use rivets to hold up the lip. you dont expect double sided tape to hold the bitch up do you?

and yes they do fit good. i got mines back in 1999 for $450 brand new. sold it for $420 after a while.

I'm positive theres enough. I bought a roll that comes in 12yds, and there is probably 7-8yds. left on the roll..Its 3M Super Heavy Duty mounting tape, so it'll defenitly hold. I put it along the front, sides, and rear. I'll sell the rest of it to you for only $6.50 shipped I've had my lip kit on for about 3 months now, and the spot under the turn signals is still intact from the tape

Is tape like this one I found on eBay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

After all, I'm still worry, how do you guys take off the kit if there is still tape on it? Won't it leave some dirt on the kit, and the surface won't be flat smooth anymore?
