Default 92-96 Lude CAI on a 97 Lude

Ok, when I ordered my CAI, I accidently ordered the wrond one, I ordered the one for a 92-96 Lude. I emailed them, and they said they would take care of it, but now I noticed that they have sold out of the 97+ Lude CAI, and just incase I cant get the one for my 97, would a 92-96 fit? I doubt it would, but thought i would ask.

I honestly have no idea. I think I remember hearing that they'll fit, but don't hold me to it! As far as TB size etc it'll be fine, but I'm not sure about the length and angle of ths piping.

Anyone know for sure? If I here a yes, I will email them and tell them that if I wont be able to get the one for a 97, then send me the one for the 92-96 that I originally ordered. Need the word.

Hmm, that's a tough one.. I do know that on the AEM CAI, the 92-96 version is in two pieces, I believe because the bend is a little more radical than it is on the 97+ Preludes. I'm sure you can shoe-horn it on your 5th gen with no problems.. but the engine bay is wider on the 97+ Preludes, and it may not fit at all..

Just my 2 cents.

Okay thisis the deal since i have had both 92 an 97. Yes the 92 will fit, but here is the deal. If you have the one that is a 2 piece keep it. The angle on the tube is excellent and the motor breaths freely. Now when i had the 2 piece 92-96 intake with other goodies i dynoed 178, now get this i later sold that and later brough another 92-96 but this time i got a 1 piece and it was falken garbage the bends were too radical and the motor had to work to get air, went and dynoed it and i lost power i dynoed 175 hp, very upset. so i sold it that day to a cat in a 94 lude. So after all of this i got the JDM airbox with the K&N filter and reset the ecu and dynoed at 181.

So yess it will fit but if you got the one piece 92-96 get rid of it!!

97+ AEM CAI are 3 inch piping one peice.
96- AEM CAI are 2.75 inch piping two peices.
Some shops sell 97+ CAI to 96- ludes cause they will still fit. Go with the 97+ you will get more on the top end.

I ordered a 97+ AEM CAI for my swap in my 4th gen accord and purchased the by pass valve to make up for the bends.
