My HID Retrofit + Engine Bay Cleanup (somwhat).
Hi, I finally got around to getting my digi-cam - so I'm snapping some pics (couldn't get any progress pics). This is how I redid my HID Retrofit, as well as redid my engine bay wiring (Had the perfect opportunity when swapping in the 3-legged chiwawa of a D15 a while back).
Old HID Retro: Old-School Black Denji's, Hella Bi-Xenon Projectors for BMW, gen4 ballasts (these suck when extremely cold/or slightly wet), modified denji projector harness.
New HID Retro: Depo Projectors (Same as Denji's) Audi A6 Single-Xenon Projectors, Hella gen3-styled ballasts (not official hella, but they work), Completely reworked wiring (integrated into OEM harness).
Wiring:
-I mounted the relay (and fuses) from the engine bay under the dash now (with a 12v running from the battery, also hidden - somwhat).
-I ran all the wires through the fenderwells (above the fender guards), and I tried to do it as neatly as possible, while leaving just about everything easily accessible (should it need to be).
-The "trigger" wires for the relay come off the light switch directly (I forgot the pins, but with a multi-meter you should find it), I also ran a diode btwn the hi/low wires - so when I flick on the highbeams the lows don't get cut out (same effect as the projector harness, but much much simpler and smaller).
-I used 12ga wire for everything related to the hid harness, and fused evereything (can't remember the size 30a fuses I believe to each ballast).
Headlights (The reeeeaaaallly fun part):
-I'll post a writeup on this part when open up the headlights to swap the denji housing/lense (better condition than the ones I have now). I could type up as much as I want, but the pics will help a lot more.
-notes on the headlights: The bases of the projectors all seem to be identical, even similar on the newer dual-projector setups (haven't verified it yet). I chose the depo/denji-style projectors because I always loved that style on the EH civics.
-The A6 projectors need to sit far back, so you can clip the hella ballast/ignitor. The gen4 ignitors are WAY to large, I had to chop up most of the headlight to use them on my old setup. The A6 projector and Gen3 style ballast/ignitor seems ideal for the 92-95 civic projector headlights.
-Only thing I'm missing is the rubber boots covering up the back like OEM (another junkyard trip).
Some pics (excuse the D15, need to drive the car around):

incase the pics don't work:

hope this stuff helps someone, when I get off my lazy *** I'll get some pics of the insides of the headlight assembly + do the writeup.

looks nice... shoulda mounted the ballasts somewhere else though, maybe lower or out of sight or something. the take away from that clean engine bay look

I was thinking of behind the fenders, maybe on the fender brackets? I'm thinking they're goingn to be in 2 different locations (maybe p-side bumper, d-side fender?).
How are you guys mounting your ballasts, just curious for some ideas. thanks.
I gotta move that catch can from the strut tower, maybe I can get it to go where the charcol canister was (gotta see where it lines up for drainback when I drop it back in).
