I found 205/45/16 Dunlop FM901's at the Tire Rack for $69/tire!
Holy **** that's cheap for such an awesome tire!
I wonder what the other tire prices are...
P.S. Tires.com didn't have them in stock, that was the first place I checked.

The Dunlop FM901 line is being replaced by the new Dunlop Direzza DZ101. At the moment, some sizes of the FM901 are still available, and have been priced accordingly. If you are in the market for a size of FM901 that is still available, now is the time to take advantage of it!!
If anyone has questions about the FM901 or the new Direzza, I would be more than happy to answer them for you.
Thanks,
Matt

I have these FM901 tires and I think they are really crappy. If I would have known how poor these tires are, I would spent the extra cash on some BF Goodrich's instead.

I have to agree! I am very disappointed in these tires for many reasons. Even though they werent designed for the snow they are the most dangerous tire i have ever driven. At 5mph it taks about 100 ft to stop. If there is any slope you will skid uncontrollably. They also suck in the rain. As far as hydroplaning they are good but handling and traction is horrible. The rubber is very tempermental and changes a lot with climate. If it is cold (a windy fall day) they are crap. they are truly a summer only tire but i guess thats expected when you buy them. They have a treadwear rating of 200. They wear SOOOOOO fast. Besides conditions they werent designed for they also suck in the summer. One interesting thing is they make no noise. If you do a burnout/skid they make no noise. Also under hard braking/skidding there is no noise either. It is very hard to get them to chirp. I think an audible chirp is neccesary for optimal braking performance and these do not provide that. In the summer they also suck for braking accelerating. Mostly braking. Overall i do not like these tires.

so you are flaming a tire that is meant to be be summer ONLY? no **** they would suck in the rain and snow. imagine azenis in the snow. with softer rubber, tires dont screech as much as harder tires. do you also wonder why azenis wear soo fast? they have a treadwear of 200 also. if you wanted tires that lasted a long time, get some tires with a 500+ treadwear. they will last, but they wont grip.
your response is like saying a WINTER only tire would be good in 100°+ weather. certain tires are meant for certain kinds of driving.

I know they are not designed for the snow and i wasn't flaming them for sucking in the snow i was just stating a fact.

I have driven plenty of summer tires that were better in the summer AND THE WINTER. Just because its a summer tire doesnt mean it cant even be in any condition. Obviously it will be worse but i didnt expect them to be that bad. Thats all i was saying.

this is where i flame them for sucking IN THE SUMMER. They provide zero grip under hard braking, they are decent for acceleration, and are horrible at handling. This is my opinion. If you dont like it to bad but i am not bashing them saying they suck in the snow. I am just saying they suck in the SUMMER which is what they were designed for and i decided to put in extra info regarding rain and snow. Next time please read more carefully

I prefer to deal in facts rather than opions. Here is actual quantitative data from testing performed by the Tire Rack on a Lexus IS300 test vehicle. The FM901 was compared to the Yoko Parada Spec-2 and BFG Scortcher T/A.

TurboEM1, yes, everyone is granted an opinion on this board. I'm not sure what tires you have compared the FM901 to when you formed your opinion. I would be interested to hear what other tires you have personally used on this vehicle.
Thanks
Matt

First off Im not all out bashing the dunlops i was stating my opinion how i was dissapointed with them and thought they would be better. Also thanks for such an extensive test regarding 3 tires. I dont feel that really proves anything. They (like i said) suck at handling in the rain (tying for last place). Also braking distance in the rain didnt do to well.

As far as other tires i have used, heres just a few of the more popular ones:
All used on a 99 Si with OEM 15" rims tire size either 195-55-15 or 205-50-15
Dunlop FM901's
Nitto Neo Gens
Nitto NT555
BFGoodrich G force T/A KDW
plus many other cheap alseasons
As far as tires I have used on my other car (CRX) they are Kumho Ecsta 712 and falken azenis. I would say that is a wide variety of tires that all are very popular.
I am not here to argue. I was just saying i dont like these tires as much as others i have driven on. Thats all. Sorry if i offended anyone but i was nust adding my .02 if anyone was interested. I guess not.

Well, I suppose that if i must grow up, then so should you. Your opinion was clearly overruled by a test regarding both dry and wet areas of the tires performance.
You should learn that sometimes you are wrong and to accept that and learn from your mistakes. Clearly, from your previous posts, you cannot accept someone else being right.
And not here to argue? apparently from your posts, you are. But again, just my .02c. and tying for last place out of 3 tires is still second.
Also, you may have very valid in car experience with these, where I dont, but judging from the data that Neo89Si provided, these seem to be a very decent summer tire. I would like to see more comparisons of other tires in this same sense, it would be extremely helpful in purchasing tires and help to eliminate the "this tire sucks" and the "pointless HT bandwagon" threads.
