Default New to welding, I dont know ****. Help me out.

I want to get started in fabbing up my own peices. Would this be a decent mig welding crap to get started?

For use with or without gas. Comes with welding torch, tip, grounding cord with clamp, brush/hammer, hand held welding mask and manual.
Input: 230V, 60 Hz, single phase; Welding current range: 30-120 amps; Duty cycle: 15% @ 115 amps; Draws 15 amps @ 230V; Max. open circuit voltage: 36V; Weldable wires: .023", .030", and .035 steel or stainless steel; .030" and .035" aluminum; .030" flux core

skip the harbor freight crap!

Look for a hobart/miller, lincoln, clarke or some other brand.. You get what you pay for!

that one is also a 230 input...so you would have to run that if you dont have that kind of wiring.

Before I got my Hobart welder I had a really really cheap lincoln unit (branded ArcWeld). There is such a massive difference in how the thing acts and welds compared to the old ArcWeld thing. It welds much nicer now, very smooth arc, and the wire actually feeds at one constant speed.
