Tech question about the spoon header/cat-jack and the kakimoto r exhaust???
i just ordered the 4-2-1 spoon header and spoon cat-jack. i am going to be getting the kakimoto r exhaust witch is 2.5 all the way through. i know that the exhaust is 6 inches longer then the stock us version. now since i wont be getting that exhaust for about 6 months. will the smsp modded 2.5 carsound cat bolt up to the spoon header and the stock exhaust without any problems? or should i just get a 2.5 flange for the header side of my stock cat and weld that on? i am trying to picture this in my head but i am not 100% sure, if someone out there has pictures of the smsp carsound cat hooked up please post them.
thanks
thanks
The 2.5" carsound cat should bolt up to the Spoon header without any problem. It should also bolt up to the stock exhaust if the length it right. However, when you get the Kakimoto R, you will need to shorten either the carsound cat or the b-pipe to have it fit.
Save your money on the 2.5" flange with stock cat, since the stock cat restrict flow big time. My recommendation would be just modify the carsound cat when you get the Kakimoto R.

when i get the kakimoto r exhaust i will put the spoon catjack witch will fit perfectually since it is jspec. then my exhaust will be jdm all the way through. thanks for the info just wanted to make sure that the carsound would fit before i order it.

I personally don't have any experience with the carsound cat, because I am running a testpipe.
So I would recommend you ask who ever you order the carsound cat from to make sure it will bolt up. But my guess would be if SMS modify it to fit the JDM style header, then it should bolt on with no problem.
But if you don't mind some power lost and want to save like $50, you can just get a 2.5" flange to have it fit with stock cat. I would only do this if you are planning to run a Spoon test pipe later on.
